Morning Walks Promoting Health and Wellbeing at Banyula Lodge

Every morning at Banyula Lodge, residents from both our mainstream and memory care communities come together to enjoy a walk around the beautiful outdoor grounds.

These daily walks are an important part of supporting residents to stay active, healthy and independent. Regular walking helps maintain strength, balance and mobility, while also supporting heart health, improving circulation and reducing the risk of falls. It also provides an opportunity to enjoy the fresh air, connect with nature, and spend time socialising with others.

For residents living with dementia, a familiar walking routine in a safe and supportive environment can promote confidence, reduce anxiety, and encourage meaningful engagement throughout the day.

At Banyula Lodge, we embrace a reablement approach by encouraging residents to do as much as they can for themselves. Activities like our morning walks help residents maintain their abilities, support their independence, and enhance their overall quality of life.

There's no better way to start the day than with a gentle walk, great company, and plenty of smiles.
