NURSING HOME (high) and HOSTEL/LODGE RESIDENTS (low)

Residents of the Karingal Gardens, Bushland Place Hostel and Banyula Lodge are provided care on the basis of the Aged Care Funding Instrument (ACFI). This document categorises residents into distinct care groups. The variations in care range from the most dependent residents to the least dependent. Residents are re-classified on an annual basis on the anniversary of their admission to the nursing home or hostel. The ACFI is a formal document provided by the Department of Health and Ageing, the actual classification is based on an assessment carried out in the Nursing Home and Hostel and reviewed and approved by the Government.
